About Painted Desert Sheep

Painted Desert sheep are a hair breed of sheep that are known for their beautiful colors and their large horns. While ewes can have small horns, only the rams have the large impressive horns.

Painted Desert sheep do not require shearing like wool breeds as they shed their winter coat each year in the Spring. They are fun loving sheep. My Painted Desert sheep enjoy climbing up on hay bales and other obstacles and jumping around like goats.

They have great grouping instinct and my experience is that they tend to be very light sheep when being moved by a Border Collie.

About Our Painted Desert Sheep

Our sheep are registered with the Painted Desert Sheep Society and are from Gold Star Horn genetics. You can see a partial photo of three of our PD ewes in the above image on this page. We will add more photos of them to this page soon, and we are constantly adding new content to our Facebook page.
